Skyrim Anniversary Edition Upgrade Price Revealed, Full Game Is $50

The price of the upgrade for Skyrim Anniversary Edition and the full game, which costs $50, has been released by Bethesda Softworks.

The price of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition and its upgrade from the Special Edition has finally been revealed by Bethesda Softworks. The updated edition of Skyrim was announced in August at QuakeCon 2021, and it improves on the breakthrough 10-year-old experience while also adding a few more bells and whistles.

One such feature is the in-game fishing mechanic, which allows players to catch 20 various aquatic animals from Skyrim’s many lakes and rivers. Hundreds of Creation Club items will be included in the Anniversary Edition, according to Bethesda. In addition, the next version of the open-world RPG will have an all-new Survival Mode, which Bethesda Game Studios promises will provide a “unique and immersive challenge.” But how much would this new package set you back? And what can owners of the Special Edition version of Skyrim expect in terms of an upgrade? Finally, these concerns have been addressed.

The publisher has revealed the price of Skyrim Anniversary Edition via a FAQ on Bethesda.net. According to the FAQ page, the entire game will cost $50 on all platforms. All Skyrim Special Edition owners will be able to download the Anniversary Upgrade for $19.99 when it is released on digital marketplaces. The post also reveals that the Special and Anniversary Editions come with complimentary next-gen upgrades for PS4 to PS5/Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. Furthermore, “even when upgrading the PlayStation 4 version of the game to the PlayStation 5 version,” Special Edition Trophy/Achievement progress will transfer to Skyrim Anniversary Edition.

Even with the additional content in Skyrim Anniversary Edition, a $50 price tag for the whole experience may not sit well with some. (It is, after all, a re-release of a 10-year-old game.) When The Elder Scrolls V’s new edition launches next week, players will have to make their judgments about the $20 Anniversary Upgrade for existing Special Edition purchasers.

Skyrim has now been re-released on various platforms, including the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and virtual reality headsets. Unsurprisingly, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – The Adventure Game from Modiphius Entertainment will be a board game adaptation of the game.
