The Pixel 6 is capable of various tasks, from language translation to macro photography. But how can you make it such that the display is constantly on?
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is equipped with nearly every function imaginable, including an always-on display. It’s always felt like Google never quite got things right with every Pixel before the Pixel 6 series. The Pixel 2 significantly improved over the first generation, but the XL model had a terrible OLED panel. The Pixel 4 was a significant advancement of the Pixel series, but it fell short due to gimmicky features and an embarrassingly awful battery.
Google has got all the essential components perfect with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. What do you think of these displays? Check. Battery life that you can count on? Yep. Excellent cameras, fun software, and a long history of updates? To all of the above, I say yes. Even better, Google could accomplish all of this while remaining price competitive. These are also two of the most significant Android values on the market, at $599 for the Pixel 6 and $899 for the Pixel 6 Pro. There’s a lot to like here.
An always-on display is one of the Pixel 6/6 Pro’s many features. When the function is turned off, shutting off the production turns off the complete collection. Enabling the always-on mode, on the other hand, will display some vital information even when the screen is official ‘off.’ Here’s how to activate it: Toggle the toggle next to ‘Always show time and info’ in the Settings app, tap ‘Display,’ then ‘Lock screen.’
What Can You Do With The Always-On Display On The Pixel 6?
When this option is active, hitting the lock button to turn off the screen does not turn it off entirely. Instead, it will display the date, time, weather, and icons for any available notifications all of the time. The fingerprint sensor icon is located below the time. Instead of pressing the power button and then placing their finger on the sensor to unlock the phone, users may now put their touch on that location to unlock the phone in one step. Last but not least, the current percentage of the Pixel 6’s battery life is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Enabling the Pixel 6’s always-on display is a terrific way to add extra functionality without putting in a lot of effort. The only disadvantage is that it increases battery consumption because the screen is always on. It may be worth disabling the always-on display if someone is in a scenario where they need to conserve battery life as much as possible. To do so, repeat the steps above and turn off the ‘Always show time and information’ toggle.
