Guardians of the Galaxy Game Is Bigger Than Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC

The 150 GB file size of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy on PC has been revealed by Steam, making it larger than Microsoft Flight Simulator at launch.

According to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Steam page, PC gamers will require at least 150 GB of storage space to meet the game’s minimum requirements. This puts the upcoming game on a par with Microsoft Flight Simulator and Marvel’s Avengers when it first came out on PC.

The next Marvel game that fans can anticipate is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The storey and characters exist independently of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the comic books, giving the venerable Guardians a fresh take. Players will assume the role of Star-Lord and embark on intergalactic adventures with the help of their companions, visiting various planets and battling various nefarious GotG villains. Along with fan favourites like Groot and Rocket Racoon, Eidos-Montréal recently confirmed that Adam Warlock would play a key role in the GotG game, though his exact role remains unknown.

The file size of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is listed as 150 GB on Steam, with the figure cited for both the minimum and recommended system requirements (via VGC). Because of the large file size, the game is larger than some of the most recent PC games, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator’s original 127 GB on PC and Marvel’s Avengers’ recommended 110 GB on PC. A GTX 1660 Super or Radeon RX 590 and 16 GB of RAM are recommended by Steam for optimal performance.

Most players will be surprised by Guardians of the Galaxy’s large file size. Unlike Marvel’s Avengers, the upcoming game will be a single-player narrative adventure that lacks hyper-realism and minute details found in Microsoft Flight Simulator. According to previous reports, the GotG game would be just over 40 GB on PlayStation 5 before any day one patch, indicating that the Steam listing isn’t accurate at the time of writing. The Steam page may be displaying a placeholder figure, as the Xbox and PlayStation storefronts and Square Enix have yet to provide information on the game’s file size. Even though the base install was reduced to around 70 GB via a patch earlier this year, Steam still lists Microsoft Flight Simulator as a 150 GB game.

With the game’s release just days away, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy fans won’t have to wait long to find out just how big the game will be on PC. Players will be able to preload the game starting this Sunday, October 24, ensuring that they can jump right into the action when it launches. The GotG game will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch via the cloud on October 26.
