The Nightmare update for Phasmophobia by Kinetic Games adds a new haunted camping map, two new ghosts, and a new difficulty level.

Phasmophobia’s new Nightmare update, which includes a haunting camping map, will be released on October 25. Over the previous year, Phasmophobia has grown in popularity and is currently one of the highest-rated co-op horror games on Steam. Although Phasmophobia has a small development staff, the game is routinely updated.

Following weeks of speculation and leaks, Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive officially released the first full trailer for the GTA trilogy remaster a few days ago, showing off all three PS2 era GTA games with updated current-generation graphics and other massive improvements like improved controls.

The Grand Theft Auto series has been used as a lens for American satire through the narrative and recreations of New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, consisting of various aspects that reflect its society. Unfortunately, due to its complete lack of censorship, the popular series has been the subject of multiple lawsuits over the last two decades.

On the other hand, Rockstar Games has stayed on top, adapting to the public outcry that the GTA series has sparked and continuing to develop ground-breaking titles.

One sharp-eyed user, Chazza354, has pointed out that during Rockstar’s new reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Phil Cassidy’s appearance has been altered, with the Confederate Flag being removed from his shirt and replaced with a skull, according to a post on the GTA subreddit (via Game Rant). Phill Cassidy previously appears as a claimed Vietnam War veteran with several stereotyped qualities of a deep American conservative in Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Because the Grand Theft Auto series is known for its satire and dark humor, many people found it strange that Rockstar would remove something they had mocked from the beginning.

Phil Cassidy’s shirt has been altered to remove the confederate flag – in a trilogy that laughs in the face of political correctness, what else have they altered to please a modern audience? Radio ads/discussions? Character dialogue ? Objectives? from GTA

This isn’t the first time the flag has been taken from a Rockstar Games game in public. The Confederate flag was replaced with an American flag at The Lost trailer park in Grand Theft Auto 5, while the flag was still visible in other parts of the game, such as the cannabis farm on Mt. Chiliad. Other game developers have either deleted or banned the contentious symbol from their games. Last year, Playground Games started prohibiting Forza users who put the flag on their cars as a decal, calling it “notorious iconography.”

It’s unknown why Rockstar Games changed Cassidy’s appearance, although it’s likely for modern viewers or a tweak made specifically for the trailer. In any event, the GTA trilogy remasters release date is approaching, so fans won’t have to wait long to see if the remaster has fully altered the PS2 series’ original appeal.

On November 11, 2021, Rockstar Game Launcher will release Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition digitally on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. On December 7, 2021, the collection will be available physically on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
