Far Cry 6's Danny Trejo Mission Will Be Pulled After Accidental Release

Ubisoft recently admitted that the Danny Trejo mission in Far Cry 6 was accidentally released and is now being removed.

The Danny Trejo-starring “Dani & Danny vs. Everybody” mission was recently removed from Far Cry 6. Still, Ubisoft confirmed that the DLC’s release was an error and will be removed in a future update. Far Cry 6 is the series’ most extensive installment to date in terms of map and content, and with additional DLC on the way, the game appears to have room for more expansion.

Far Cry 6 will have several DLC releases from now until a few months into 2022. Vaas: Insanity, the game’s first DLC episode, will be released in November, with the title directly referencing renowned series villain Vaas Montenegro (who first appeared in Far Cry 3). Pagan: Control, a sequel to Far Cry 4, will feature Pagan Min, the antagonist from Far Cry 4. It will be released in January 2022. With the confirmed Joseph: Collapse DLC, Far Cry 5’s villain Joseph “The Father” Seed will also appear in March next year.

Ubisoft accidentally released one of Far Cry’s DLC packs early, according to Video Games Chronicle. Players are tasked with assisting actor Danny Trejo after “getting hassled by the military” in the mission “Dani & Danny vs Everybody.” Still, they will not be able to explore the story. Such content will be removed as soon as a recent game update for consoles (and later PC, Stadia, and Luna) is released. However, JorRaptor’s YouTube video below depicts the DCL’s story and gameplay.

“The ‘Dani & Danny vs. Everybody’ mission is a work-in-progress that was accidentally released early,” Ubisoft confirmed. We’re working on getting rid of it, and we’re excited for players to see the final version. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and will respond as soon as possible with additional information.” Other changes included:

  • New Daily and Weekly Challenges.
  • Several quality-of-life changes.
  • Bug fixes.
  • Corrections to the game’s co-op mode.

In addition, far Cry 6 has a lot of different ways to explore its wealth of content, including alternate endings, so there are plenty of things to do while you wait for Danny Trejo’s mission to return.

With so much content coming out over the next six months – including one DLC coming out this month – Far Cry 6 can probably afford to hold off on releasing its “Dani & Danny vs Everybody” mission until it’s ready. So, for the time being, the Far Cry franchise’s most well-known villains will most likely occupy its player base – and why wouldn’t they, given their wacky and endlessly entertaining contributions to the series?

Far Cry 6 is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One X/S, PC, Amazon Luna, and Google Stadia.
