A Player in Animal Crossing Discovers a New Item That Protects Against Wasps

According to one gamer, standing under a Pergola in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a wonderful technique to prevent wasp swarms in the game.

One Animal Crossing: New Horizons player recently devised a novel strategy to avoid being stung by the game’s overly aggressive wasps. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, wasps are one of the few actual risks on the otherwise calm Island. Unless their nest is damaged by an unwary Villager who happens to be, say, chopping down a wasp-laden tree, these deadly bugs don’t represent much of a problem.

A swarm of small flying insects will not waste time pursuing down the wrongdoer if they are upset. Of course, players risk being stung if they try to flee or catch the wasps, but there are ways to get rid of the pesky insects. For example, a few months ago, one user discovered that immediately firing a party popper works well for scaring away wasps. Some people may find the party popper method a touch too extreme because it’s a one-time use item. New Horizons’ troublesome bugs are now another interesting option to avoid Animal Crossing.

Ladywhoneverknewit, a Reddit member, uploaded a short video of how they now get rid of wasps when exploring New Horizons. The gamer shakes a tree full of wasps at the start of the 20-second movie, then sprints to a nearby Pergola and stands beneath it. Instead of attacking, the bugs soar around a few times before the player equips a net and quickly scoops up the bugs. The wasp-free zone has been established. In the post linked below, have a look at this intriguing way of escape:

Like the previously described party popper approach, the Pergola technique of getting rid of wasps in Animal Crossing: New Horizons may not be to everyone’s liking. Nonetheless, in certain cases, it could be a viable second alternative.

ACNH was released in March 2020, and the game’s final content drops were just over a week ago. Brewster and The Roost café were added to New Horizons in Version 2.0 on November 5. This update also coincided with the release of Happy Home Paradise, the popular game’s first and final paid expansion, which allows Villagers to design their clients’ ideal vacation home. With these two games out of the way, the issue of when Nintendo will reveal the next Animal Crossing game looms large in the background.

On the Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now available to play.
