Only those who possess the GTA remaster trilogy can get a brand-new Grand Theft Auto 3 anniversary outfit for Grand Theft Auto Online.
Following the unfortunate launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Rockstar Games is giving Grand Theft Auto Online owners who bought the infamous trilogy a Prison costume based on Claude’s introductory appearance in Grand Theft Auto III. The long-awaited GTA remaster trilogy was announced in October to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, and it was launched on November 11th for contemporary platforms and PC. The remastered collection allows modern audiences to experience Rockstar’s iconic pioneering games with updates and improvements. Yet, the release has received negative feedback from fans due to numerous problems, inconsistencies, and a lack of polish that render it unusable.
In honor of Grand Theft Auto III’s 20th anniversary, Rockstar Games revealed brand-new Grand Theft Auto III content for Grand Theft Auto Online alongside the launch of the Definitive Edition. These were said to be new clothing items and distinctive ensembles obtained through special events in future releases. Shortly after, Rockstar released the first of several commemorative Grand Theft Auto III aesthetic pieces that would be available for free to all players in Grand Theft Auto Online.
Players who own Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be able to unlock the free Grand Theft Auto III Liberty City State Penitentiary coveralls in Grand Theft Auto Online, according to RockstarINTEL reporter videotech_ on Twitter and officially revealed on Rockstar Games Newswire as part of a new weekly update. To get the special costume, gamers must connect their PlayStation Network or Xbox Live accounts to Rockstar’s Social Club via its website before November 25th. However, as Twitter user Pluto 3425 pointed out, many users are enraged at Rockstar for keeping a unique item behind a faulty and unfinished remastered collection.
So pretty much if I pay $60 for a buggy unfinished game and play it. I get a reskinned coverall outfit? That's fantastic really. Good job Rockstar Games, you're really blazing it through the industry with these types of decisions.

Even though the developers stated that the remaster collection would be updated and improved over time, disgruntled players have flooded Rockstar’s support with refund requests. Strangely, customers are being confronted with unresolved delays or rejections of their GTA remaster trilogy inquiries, prompting them to take a variety of actions. Every version of the Definitive Edition has been reviewed on Metacritic. User review scores across many platforms are below 1.0, making it one of the worst-received games of 2021, with new problems being revealed every day.
Although Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has only recently been published, it has already become one of the year’s most divisive titles. Many consider it the worst Rockstar game due to graphical defects, poor performance, and out-of-place game world modifications. For Grand Theft Auto Online fans, the unusual Grand Theft Auto III callback attire may be exotic. Still, it may not be enough to improve sales for the lackluster remastered collection.
