Fortnite's Collaboration With Jordan Shoes Introduces a New Jump Mode Event

Fortnite has announced a new partnership with Air Jordan, which will bring new cosmetics to the game and a brand-new event mode called Jumpman Zone.

Fortnite is filled with crossovers, and the most recent one, with the Jordan brand, adds a brand-new jump mode event to the game. Though most of the game’s crossovers are more pop-culture-focused—for example, a Nick Fury skin was added to Fortnite on November 25th—the game has become so large that its sphere of influence now stretches beyond entertainment media and into a variety of other areas of life, including fashion.

This isn’t the first time Fortnite has collaborated with celebrities—far from it. Some of the most well-known musicians in the world, such as Travis Scott and Ariana Grande, have played virtual concerts in the game, resulting in some of the most-watched content in gaming history. Fortnite has worked with various high-profile brands in the past, including a 2019 partnership with the Air Jordan apparel company. Even as recently as last month, Epic Games announced a Fortnite collaboration with Moncler, a French fashion house specializing in coats, jackets, and winter wear, to bring two outfits inspired by Moncler, as well as other products, to the game. Fortnite collaborates with both new and old businesses to give gamers new ways to dress and play.

Epic Games has announced another collaboration with Jordan Brand, bringing new events and outfits to the game. A video on the Fortnite YouTube website showcases the new crossover content. Players can visit the “Jumpman Zone” starting December 1st at 7 p.m. ET, a new location with portals leading to a new set of tasks that will earn them experience and rewards. Players who complete an in-game scavenger search will receive a new skin based on the Air Jordan XI “Cool Grey” shoes, released on December 11th. The MVP chambers, which feature a museum dedicated to past Air Jordan releases, a basketball court, and an immersive video promoting the Air Jordan XI “Cool Grey,” will be unlocked after that. Fortnite remains on top of the current fashion trends, as evidenced by the Balenciaga hoodie skin partnership just a few months ago.

In addition to the Jumpman Zone, this partnership includes trickshot challenges that, when achieved, grant access to unique variants of the Hangtime and Swish outfits, which will be accessible in the in-game store as soon as the Jumpman Zone launches. Players who complete 12 or more trickshot tasks by December 4th at 2 p.m. ET will receive the “Deep In The Paint” spray, and a Hall of Fame area will offer even stricter challenges for those eager to put their skills to the test. The Jumpman Zone will be featured in the weeks leading up to the shoe’s debut on November 11th, but it will stay accessible after that using a code.

Because of its popularity, Fortnite will continue to cooperate with prominent companies to attract even more followers. According to a recent leak, Neo and Trinity skins from The Matrix will be released this month to coincide with the release of The Matrix: Resurrections. With plenty more media set to be released through 2022, Fortnite will have plenty of opportunities to promote itself alongside other big brands. This is unlikely to be the last time Fortnite gamers experience high fashion.

Fortnite is playable on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Nintendo Switch, Android, and PC.
