Green Man Gaming is presently offering a 20 percent discount on both the base edition and the deluxe Elden Ring for Steam.
Although the highly anticipated Elden Ring is still a few months away from release, one shop has already offered sale discounts on the game. In the form of a twenty-minute Elden Ring gameplay preview, fans were recently given an in-depth look at the new FromSoftware title.
While the next action RPG appears to have a lot of familiar themes for FromSoftware fans, it will be a departure from the well-established Souls-like template. For Dark Souls veterans, some of the most significant changes include a genuine open-world environment in the style of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, mounted combat, and a focus on verticality in gameplay. Other major gameplay components from FromSoftware, such as diverse combat styles, a vast loot system, and glowing checkpoints, have been kept. Elden Ring’s release date was recently pushed back by a month, indicating that the game may not be as near to completion as FromSoftware would like it to be.
Most shops have already set the game’s February release date price at $60 for the standard edition and about $80 for the deluxe edition. However, Wario64, a Twitter user, recently pointed out that Elden Ring purchases done through Green Man Gaming on Steam can acquire the game for a 20% discount. So instead, players will pay $47.99 for the regular version and $63.99 for the deluxe edition if they purchase the game through this retailer.

At this time, it does not appear that any other store outlets are offering a discount on the FromSoftware product. It’s an unorthodox approach, given that Elden Ring has been hotly anticipated for a long time in the gaming world, making it a valuable product regardless of price. However, by offering a discount so early, Green Man Gaming may attract more customers if they remain the only place where players can get the game at a discounted price before it launches.
While the idea of a Dark Souls-inspired open-world game sounds fantastic, it has yet to be implemented and is thus unproven as a viable option. Cyberpunk 2077 is a recent example of competent development teams overextending themselves on ambitious projects. On the other hand, Elden Ring has been in production for a long time, and if the game can live up to the footage already displayed, players will be in for a truly epic experience.
On February 25, 2022, Elden Ring will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
