The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection could be released sooner than expected

Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves has just been graded by the Australian Classification Board, implying that the remastered collection will be released soon.

The Australian Classification Board has given Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves a rating, indicating that it will be released for PC and PlayStation 5 sooner than previously expected. During the PlayStation Showcase 2021, Sony announced a remastered version of 2016’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and its 2017 spin-off Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, with both titles set to release on PC and PS5 in early 2022 – though original series developer Naughty Dog will not be present for the PC version of Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is the fourth installment in the Uncharted series. It served as a sort of conclusion to Naughty Dog’s popular series of globe-trotting action-adventure games, with treasure hunter protagonist Nathan Drake and his long-lost brother Sam embarking on a final trip in quest of Henry Avery’s secret inheritance. Meanwhile, in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the focus moved to support characters Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross as they searched for the ancient Tusk of Ganesh in the Western Ghats mountains of India. These games were praised for their visuals when they first came out on PS4, and the Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection is likely to look even better on PS5 and PC.

The wait for the remasters may not be lengthy, like Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection has been given an MA15+ certification for intense violence and moderate language by the Australian Classification Board. This is comparable to the rest of the Uncharted series (including the initial PS4 releases of Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy). Still, Australia’s rating could indicate that Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection will be released sooner rather than later, in early 2022. This is based on previous Australian ratings, such as Elden Ring’s, whose release date is February 25, four months following the Australian Classification Board’s October 13 classification. So, according to this logic, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy could be released in February or March, albeit no official announcement has been made.

Sony has already planned a whirlwind 2022 for PS5 customers. Horizon Forbidden West, a Guerilla Games open-world sci-fi sequel, will be released on February 18, Gran Turismo 7 will be released on March 4, and additional PlayStation exclusives such as God Of War: Ragnarok and new property Forespoken will be released at undefined times next year. Meanwhile, Uncharted fans have been reflecting on the tenth anniversary of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception from 2011 and are gearing up to see Nathan Drake in the impending live-action Uncharted film.

It’s worth noting that any information gleaned from the Australian Classification Board’s rating of Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves other than the rating itself is purely conjectured at this point, but suggestions that the collection will be released in February or March correspond to previous board reviews. In any case, uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy will be played for the first time or a second time when Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection debuts next year on PlayStation 5 and PC.

In early 2022, Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection will be released for PS5 and PC.
