A talented Pokémon artist has shared a photo of their Togepi stained glass decoration, including a carved pumpkin.
A talented Pokémon fan and artist have created Togepi stained glass art inspired by Halloween just in time for the spooky season. Many video game fans are getting ready for Halloween later this month, whether it’s by making their gaming-inspired costumes or working on in-game designs for spooky Animal Crossing builds.
Since the series’ inception in the 1990s, Pokémon has been a go-to source of inspiration for crafters and artists as one of the world’s most popular franchises. There are now nearly 900 pocket monsters, providing limitless opportunities for art, cosplay, fanfiction, and other creative endeavours. Every Pokémon character, especially when costuming the beloved creatures, is well-suited to fan interpretation. Many fans of the series have put their spooky spin on their favourite Pokémon monsters, creating everything from scare-inducing artwork to spooky-cute Pokémon crochet, in addition to being popular Halloween costumes.
kmglasscreations, a Redditor, have demonstrated their talent with a handcrafted stained glass Togepi created with Halloween in mind. With a scary carved pumpkin replacing its usual eggshell, the creator’s Togepi is primed and ready for Halloween festivities, resulting in a creepy-cute and wholly unique design. Those looking to decorate their home with the Halloween-themed Togepi design can do so now through the user’s Etsy store, KMGlassCreationsShop, which sells a variety of other Halloween and gaming stained glass decorations.
Because of the franchise’s popularity, fans can easily obtain licenced Pokémon merchandise throughout the year. Still, handmade art can be even more popular due to its limited availability and time to create. While the glass artist hasn’t revealed how long it took to create the Togepi stained glass decoration, creating stained glass is no easy task. Other stained glass pocket monsters without Halloween designs are available in the creator’s Etsy store for Pokémon fans.
The Halloween Togepi is the perfect memento to cap off 2021, which celebrated 25 years of the Pokémon franchise. There have been lots of Pokémon events taking place throughout the year, including the new Pokémon The Movie: Secrets of the Jungle coming to Netflix on October 8, as well as special edition commemorative Pokémon cards, and the upcoming release of Pokémon remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Pokémon GO is also gearing up with plenty of Halloween-themed events throughout October. There’s never been a better time to be a Pokémon fan with so much to get stuck into.
