The annual Wattpad awards for budding wordsmiths will return in 2021. You could be the next Watty Award winner if you have a terrifying horror story to share with the world or a heartwarming love story that we can all relate to.
Wattpad is a platform that allows writers to voice their opinions (or have their words heard). This competition runs once a year. So anyone with a book should think about finishing it and entering it into the Wattys!
Wattpad will announce the shortlisted stories on November 1, with the competition closing on September 30. Wattpad will notify the final winners on December 3, 2021.
How do you enter the Watty Awards?
You’ve decided to enter the 2021 Watty Awards. However, there are several requirements you need to meet for you to enter the 2021 Watty Awards. These are the criteria:
- You must log in via Wattpad.com.
- You can enter between noon (ET), July 7, 2021, and 11:59 PM(ET), September 30, 2021.
- You must make sure it is a complete book.
- It must be in one or more of the following languages: English (or French), Italian, German (or Spanish), Portuguese (or Dutch), Turkish (or Filipino), or Indonesian.
- If it is written in English, it must contain at least 50,000 words and 40,000 if written in another language.
- It would help if you did it all yourself.
- It must be in one of these categories: Chicklit Fanfiction Fantasy Historical Fiction Horror Mystery and Thriller New Adult Paranormal Romance Science Fiction Werewolf Young Adult.
- It should not include any personal information or other real people.
- It must follow the Wattpad content guidelines (available on the website).
- Your story should not be disparaging of the prize provider or content licensees.
