Tinder and Spotify Have Joined Forces To Create An Odd New Feature

Tinder has introduced a new ‘Music Mode,’ allowing users to mark their favourite song for potential mates to listen to.

Tinder and Spotify have teamed up to provide the dating app with a new Music Mode. While online and app-based dating services have been around for a while, their popularity has skyrocketed in the last year and a half due to the ongoing pandemic. Many dating apps, including Tinder, have responded by releasing a slew of additional features for users to try.

This isn’t the first time the two businesses have collaborated. Spotify partnered with Tinder in 2016 to develop the Anthem feature, which allowed users to showcase their favourite songs directly within their profiles. Music and social profiles, of course, are not new in general, with MySpace, for those who remember it, a site that was always intent on merging songs with pages.

Tinder and Spotify have partnered up once more to provide a new Music Mode to user profiles as an additional personality adjustment. The new option, found in Explore, allows users to select an Anthem that will play automatically when someone else taps on their profile. According to Tinder, 40% of all Gen Z users have added Anthems to their profiles, which has resulted in a 10% boost in matches. Music Mode will be available in all regions offered by Spotify in the coming weeks.

A New Level Of Individuality

Music Mode is another layer that can be used to learn something about someone else without meeting in person in this age of social alienation, and everything is remote. Almost everyone enjoys listening to music and has favourite artists or bands. As a result, music can predict whether someone will swipe left instead of right. “That sensation when you’re at a party, and you find out someone else loves the same tunes you do,” Tinder says of the new option.

Music Mode adds the Explore tab’s other features, such as Hot Takes, Vibes, and Swipe Night. Users can sort profiles by interest on Explore. Suppose music or going to bars is essential to a user. In that case, the user can arrange profiles depending on whether or not the other person enjoys listening to music or going out on a night out. There’s never been a better moment to give the Tinder dating app a try, with so many new features launched in recent months.
