Alessandro Vincenti displayed his custom-painted Spider-Man 2 PS5 DualSense controller, which combines Peter and Miles’ styles.
A clever online artist has created an outstanding handmade PlayStation 5 controller based on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. At September’s PlayStation Showcase, Insomniac surprised fans by revealing the highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s smash hit Marvel’s Spider-Man, with a chilling Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 trailer that featured Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up against classic villains like Venom and Kraven The Hunter.
Since its first announcement, intriguing information regarding Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has surfaced, well ahead of the game’s scheduled to release in 2023. Tony Todd, who will play Venom in Marvel‘s Spider-Man 2, claims that the sequel will be far more significant than Marvel’s Spider-Man or its 2020 spin-off Spider-Man: Miles Morales. According to Marvel’s creative vice president Bill Rosemann, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have a darker tone, similar to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Other villains such as The Lizard and Mysterio were alluded to in a recent Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 plot leak and additional gameplay features such as Peter or Miles having an AI sidekick to assist them during missions. In addition, fans are already creating personalized Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 apparel, even though the film is still a long way off.
Reddit user FieldSuperb943 published a quick video of a custom-made Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 controller, according to Game Rant. The left side of the controller displays Peter Parker’s red-and-white costume design, while the right side features Miles Morales’ black-and-red costume pattern, with Venom’s visage painted on the white touchpad in the center. On their website, Vincenti sells a custom Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 controller for €130,00 (about $150).
This isn’t the first time someone has designed a PS5 controller in anticipation of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as Twitter user POPeART_ did it in September with a rendering of a Spider-Man and Venom-themed DualSense controller. In the months following the sequel’s announcement, fans have expressed interesting ideas for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, such as creating a new version of Gwen Stacy (Spider-Gwen) or preserving the Venom symbiote’s ability to hide from Peter’s Spider-Sense during the eventual boss battle.
Alessandro Vincenti’s custom-painted Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 controller is a stunning work of fan art, displaying both the eponymous superheroes’ unique costumes as well as their monster arch-nemesis. Although Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 isn’t due out for another several year, it looks that fans are eager to get their hands on Insomniac’s next open-world, web-slinging adventure, as proven by the vast number of fan-made Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 controllers and artwork already available.
