Yesterday, Sony fully revealed the subsequent God of simulation, officially called God of War: Ragnarok. Therein reveal trailer, we learned that Freya and Thor would be the first antagonists in Ragnarok, though we didn’t get to ascertain considerably of Thor in the least. Once the reveal was done, Sony Santa Monica revealed full character artwork for a spread of characters within the game, including Thor, and it’s safe to mention that the reaction to Thor has been mixed.
If you were expecting a chiselled, buff Thor just like the one we often (though not always) saw within the Marvel movies, then the complete revelation of God of War’s Thor probably missed the mark for you. as compared to the muscle-bound Chris Hemsworth, God of War’s Thor certainly looks a touch more stocky, with an enormous belly and messy red hair.

The reveal of Thor seems to possess God of War fans divided. Some say that this Thor isn’t what they expected, while others argue that God of War’s Thor better aligns with how he was described in Norse mythology. Indeed, consistent with Wikipedia, the Poetic Edda describes a disguised Thor who “eats and drinks ferociously, consuming entire animals and three casks of mead.” It’s hard to imagine Thor looking very similar to his Marvel depiction if he makes a habit of voracious eating and drinking like that.
Whether or not God of War’s Thor is mythologically accurate, there’s no doubt that he’s getting to be a strong foe within the game, thereupon quite a strongman build. He has much reason to be angry with Kratos and Atreus, as they dispatched a variety of his relations in 2018’s God of War.
Unfortunately, yesterday’s full reveal of the God of War: Ragnarok wasn’t amid a release date for the game. We all know that Ragnarok will be launching PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at some point in 2022. We’ll allow you to know when Sony shares more, except, for now, we’ll need to accept debating about Ragnarok’s stocky Thor.
