  • Welcomed the recently released Jurassic World Evolution 2 game on Twitter.
  • Detailing some of the game’s features as well as its teaser.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 was published today, November 9, after Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum announced it earlier this summer.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is the next Jurassic Park game by Frontier Developments, and it’s a successor to Jurassic World Evolution, a popular dinosaur park management sim released in 2018. In the new game, players team up with characters from the Jurassic World film franchise, such as Dr. Ian Malcolm (voiced by Jeff Goldblum) and Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard), to create the ideal park for both tourists and their dinosaur prisoners. With additional what-if story scenarios and four separate gameplay modes, including Campaign and Sandbox, the game promises deeper management systems and tools than its predecessor. In addition, Jurassic World Evolution 2 adds 75 new dinosaur species to the game’s dinosaur list.

Colin Trevorrow, director of both the Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Dominion films, gave his opinions on Jurassic World Evolution 2 on Twitter to celebrate the game’s debut, praising the game’s aesthetics and features. Trevorrow tweeted the game’s pre-order trailer, saying that as a dad, he is “grateful” to the devs for “putting science and palaeontology first” and that the dinosaurs in the game “look dope AF.”

The director also announced the Mosasaurus, one of the new dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Although the developer is familiar with this dinosaur because of its involvement in several Jurassic films, including Jurassic World, the dinosaur did not appear in the Jurassic World Evolution game. Instead, the game’s sequel adds aquatic lizards like the Mosasaurus and highly requested flying reptiles to the array of ancient monsters seen in its predecessor.

Many fans have been anticipating the arrival of Jurassic World Evolution 2, but early reviews have been mixed, despite high acclaim from the Jurassic movie director. While many players have praised the better graphics and new gameplay choices, some have criticized the game’s price, claiming it should have been provided as DLC for the original game instead. Some Steam reviewers have also reported bugs and problems. However, because this is a brand-new title, these will probably be patched out in due time.
