Vivo X70 Pro+ renders hint at a second screen on the back

Vivo has been aggressively pushing its smartphones in global markets within the past few years, and its strategy may have paid off with its rise among the world’s top five brands. But, of course, it’s also littered the market with innumerable models, though a couple manages to face out due to some novel feature or design. The Vivo X50 Pro+ and X60 Pro+ could also be remembered for their unique mini-gimbal systems, and therefore the Vivo X70 Pro+ might stand out from the gang with a little screen on its back.

Second screens on smartphones aren’t exactly a replacement concept by now, but it’s still a rare feature. The Meizu Pro 7 from 2017 might be credited for this niche trend, though there are dual-screen phones just like the YotaPhone for much longer. More recently, Xiaomi revived that style with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra just last April, and it seems that Vivo isn’t far behind.

The renders shared by Pricebaba and @OnLeaks only hint at that possibility. the rear of what’s believed to be the Vivo X70 Pro+ features a large camera bump that takes up one-third of the phone’s back. Occupying the remainder of the space may be a thin area that would be cosmetic or an area for a second screen.

What is noticeable from these renders is that the absence of Vivo’s much-touted gimbal camera. the corporate has invested heavily during this technology, so it’s a touch surprising to not see it in what would be Vivo’s camera smartphone flagship. But, these are renders that may not accurately depict the ultimate design.

Little is understood about the Vivo X70 Pro+’s specs at now. It’s expected to run on a Snapdragon 888 with a minimum of 8GB of RAM, more likely 12GB at the most. Perhaps a touch more interesting is the prospect of the phone bearing Vivo’s self-developed imaging processor, the Vivo V1, which could explain the shortage of a hardware gimbal within the next generation.
