Pokémon GO Halloween Event Adds New Costumed Pikachu, Pumpkaboo & More

The annual Halloween event in Pokémon GO is chock-full of surprises, including brand-new Pokémon and raids against ghostly pocket monsters.

A spooky new Halloween event in Pokémon GO will bring a slew of new Pokémon, themed costumes, and raids to the mobile game. Niantic has been providing updates and events for the alternate reality game since its release. Pokémon GO events will be held throughout October, including a Halloween-themed event and a crossover with an upcoming animated film.

October is a particularly festive month, with Halloween and the general autumn season lending it a distinct flavour. Pokémon GO will take advantage of the month’s festivities by hosting several events. The spherical Drifloon and the noxious Gastly will be featured on October 5 and 12, respectively, in their Spotlight Hours. In October, players will face off against dark Pokémon like Mega Gengar and the Mythical Pokémon Darkrai in intense raids. According to a recent teaser, the dark and mysterious Galarian Slowking will be featured in Pokémon GO’s Halloween 2021 celebration.

The Pokémon GO Halloween celebration has been revealed, revealing many contents coming to the alternate reality game. The event will be split into two parts: Creepy Companions from October 15 to 22, and Ghoulish Pals will take place from October 22 to 31. A Special Research storey will make Ghost-type Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild throughout both parts of the event, and a Halloween Cup will be available in the GO Battle League. In addition, more Halloween-themed Pokémon, such as Halloween Mischief Pikachu and Piplup, have been added, as well as creepy-themed avatars.

Galatian Slowking will be added as an evolution of Galarian Slowpoke in Part 1 of the Pokémon GO Halloween event, Creepy Companions. Raids will be centred on frightening Pokémon, with a Five-Star Raid against Altered Forme Giratina and a Mega Raid against Mega Gengar among them. The second part of the event, Ghoulish Pals, will feature a Five-Star Raid against Darkrai and Mega Raid against Mega Absol. Phantump, Trevenant, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist are among the four brand-new Pokémon that will debut in Pokémon GO in this second instalment.

The annual Halloween celebration in Pokémon GO is usually one of the game’s most significant yearly updates. The 2020 Halloween Event in Pokémon GO introduced Galarian Yamask, a brand-new Pokémon, and raids focusing on supernatural creatures like Darkrai and Gengar. Last year’s Halloween Cup was also featured in the Battle League, but it appears that 2021 will have even more exciting things in store for players.
