Leaked Call of Duty: Vanguard Captain America and Indiana Jones Crossovers

According to a fresh leak from Call of Duty: Vanguard data miners, Captain America and Indiana Jones may be making an appearance in the game shortly.

Call of Duty: Vanguard returns players to the series’ most well-known setting of World War II, but recent rumours claim that the game may take a fresh approach by including some well-known WWII-era fictitious characters.

Vanguard has carved out its niche among the several WWII Call of Duty titles, implying that the game is attempting to differentiate itself with some fan service.

Fun pop-culture crossovers aren’t uncommon in the Call of Duty franchise, but they’ve largely appeared in more recent games. Previous Halloween events have done a lot of this, providing gamers with allusions and outfits from various horror films and media. The Haunting is a yearly event that converts maps into frightening alternative versions and adds seasonal twists to gameplay, particularly in the Zombies mode. Vanguard will have to wait until next year to celebrate Halloween, but it appears to be working on its crossovers, including a Call of Duty/Attack on Titan crossover.

The newest Vanguard rumour comes from Twitter user ModenasHD (via Video Games Chronicle), who claims that the game is preparing crossovers with legendary WWII-era characters Indiana Jones and Captain America. The tweet calls attention to two references in the game’s files, one for each character, exposed via data files. Some artwork appears to be coming to the game’s Operator store when these characters’ events become life. It’s unclear how the characters will operate in the game. However, Call of Duty has already incorporated other strange characters into its games, such as Ghostface from Scream and Frank the Rabbit from Donnie Darko. Rambo also appeared in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, indicating that the franchise prefers to keep its tie-ins thematically relevant.

It makes logical to have Indiana Jones and Captain America in Vanguard. Both are based on World War II tales and are Disney-owned properties. Because Vanguard requires the player to take on several views to defeat the Nazis, including these heroes, who are most known for battling Nazis, it seems like a logical match. The revealed determined code mentioned “Ah,” which some belief stands for “American Heroes,” and is the name of an upcoming event at Vanguard that will debut Captain America and Indiana Jones (and potentially other characters as well). The multiplayer in Call of Duty: Vanguard has been acclaimed, and these characters would be a great addition.

Call of Duty: Vanguard has only been released for roughly a week, but speculations regarding future content and DLC are already circulating. While fans wait for Infinity Ward’s next game in the series, Vanguard, to be released next year, it provides a return to the series’ beginnings. And if the leaks are accurate, World War II will be seen in an entirely new light.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
