Foldable phones from a technological point of view are impressive. However, there’s a touch of concern regarding durability, namely the display, which isn’t as rigid as more traditional displays. This is often because, to be flexible, a particular sort of material is employed, making it slightly more vulnerable to scratches and dents.
However, during a durability test by JerryRigEverything, Huawei’s Mate X2 foldable phone survived tons of the items thrown at it. Most impressive was when the YouTuber attempted to fold the phone the other direction, which you’d assume would end in the phone snapping sort of a twig, but not.
In the video above, JerryRigEverything attempts to bend the phone within the other way, but it didn’t break to his surprise and ours. you’ll see he’s giving it his all but is unable to interrupt the device. This is often because of the planning of the phone, where the two halves meet one another once you fold it in the other direction, giving it added durability.
While the Mate X2 is way from invincible, if you’re looking to select up a foldable phone for yourself and are worried about damaging it, the Mate X2 looks like a moral choice because it seems to be surprisingly rugged.
