Apple has released details about its iPhone 13 Pro model, including the camera system. Apple promises a new level in mobile photography. Professionals and amateurs alike will be able to ditch their bulky cameras and take their smartphones with them. The iPhone 13 Pro camera system and the iPhone 13 Pro Max system provide better low-light performance and ultra-wide-angle shots.
Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro was announced as its “biggest camera advance” to date. Apple demonstrated the new features of the iPhone 13 Pro’s camera and how professionals use the camera to create stunning cinematic-tier footage using the iPhone and a handheld tripod.
Three cameras are available on the iPhone 13 Pro: telephoto, wide-angle, and ultra-wide-angle lenses. The telephoto camera can offer a maximum 3x optical zoom of 77mm and a longer focal length. The wide-angle camera features an F1.5 aperture, which offers a 2.2x higher performance in low light settings and up to 3.2x more performance. The ultra-wide camera has an F1.8 aperture and a 6-element lens. This gives it a 92 percent increase in low-light performance and autofocus.
iPhone users can also use the ultra-wide camera to take macro photos. This allows you to capture close-up shots of anything that catches your attention. It also features computational photography, which leverages software such as Photographic Styles within the Camera app.
Cinematic mode is a unique feature that allows videographers to use slow-motion, time-lapse and depth-of-field transitions. Apple claims iPhone 13 Pro users will enjoy “end-to-end pro workflows” with ProRes and Dolby vision support. The new A15 Bionic image signal processor powers the camera system.
Apple claims that the new ISP offers improved tone mapping and noise reduction. The iPhone 13 Pro models also have sensor-shift optical imaging stabilization. This keeps the sensor stable, not the lens, for smoother videos. All iPhone 13 Pro cameras have Night mode.
Apple has set a limit on the iPhone 13 Pro 128GB models to record ProRes video at 1080p/30fps using the Camera app. To access ProRes 4K/30fps video recording on iPhone 13 Pro, you will need the 256GB – 1TB storage options. This limitation will make it more expensive for those who want to be cinematographers.

This display offers an adaptive refresh rate, a more efficient and cost-effective OLED panel, and other benefits. The iPhone 13 Pro is priced at $999, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1,099 US.
