Here we can see “avast thinks google chrome is a virus”
Sometimes, Avast is often too sensitive. For example, it suspects normal and safe websites as untrusted ones, thus blocking the access and prevents you from viewing them. Luckily, you’ll bypass this false warning and stop Avast from blocking certain websites in the future.
In this guide, I will show you ways to disable Avast’s Web Shield that is liable for blocking suspicious websites. Not only that, but you’ll also find out how to allow any websites so Avast won’t stop the access next time you visit it.
How to close up Avast web shield
- attend the system tray and double-click on the Avast icon.
- Click on Protection.
- Select Core Shields.
- close up the online Shield option.
- Select the duration.
- Click okay to confirm.
- Now, the online Shield has been disabled, and Avast won’t block any websites.
You may see there’s a warning regarding the Core Shields status. Since Web Shield is considered critical protection, you’ve got to show it again once you have done your particular activity.
Another way you’ll use it is by adding an exception (allowlist) on websites you trust. That way, Avast will never block selected websites in the future.
How to add an internet site exception in Avast
- Launch Avast, attend Menu.
- Select Settings.
- Head to Exceptions.
- Click Add Exception.
- Write the website domain and click on Add Exception.
- the website has been added to the Avast exception list.
This approach is safer than disabling the online Shield protection since you’ll get complete internet security while still ready to access your previously blocked website.
You can also disable Avast notifications & messages by turning on its Silent Mode. This new protection mode is devoted to severe working, fullscreen gaming, or any activity that you simply don’t want to be disturbed.

- avast keeps blocking google chrome
I’ve had some problems with google chrome, and avast it keeps blocking Chrome; I feel every 5 minutes or so(i just got on as im typing this), I buy a message saying malware blocked from a site called my.blueadvertisments.com(i think the box went away) and Google Chrome won’t load any pages
- Avast (Free) says Google Chrome is Malware
Today I used to be using Google Chrome on the AMC site The Walking Dead (this isn’t a risky site), and every one of a sudden, Avast starts Trippin saying Google Chrome is Malware.
I let Avast delete Chrome, did an entire virus scan (24 adobe and Chrome files came up as viruses) then tried to reinstall Chrome. Avast won’t let me roll in the hay. I disable Avast and install Chrome, then re-enable Avast, and Avast starts trippin again. My computer isn’t otherwise misbehaving.
- Avast and Malwarebytes
Today I got adware on my computer; I can’t search any keyword like “adw” or “adwcleaner,” I exploit Avast to scan like four hours+, 0 threat detect. and that I try Malwarebytes check like two minit, 60+threat see and every one the threat are quarantined. Can anyone explain why Avast cant find one threat?
- Google Chrome says my browser is managed, and it isn’t
I opened Google Chrome today after Avast telling me to reboot my computer and that I checked my Menu to reopen the tabs I had open, and not only were my tabs gone (that’s another issue that may not be what I’m worried about), but it said at rock bottom that my browser is “managed by your organization.” Not only do I not currently have employment, but I even have been using this laptop as my computer since April of last year and haven’t signed into any work account. I even have no idea why this is often on my laptop, and research that I did brings up “QuicAllowed,” and another post in another forum site says that an antivirus called BullGuard can cause this. I do not use BullGuard, I exploit Avast, so I’m confused but even thought about what the cause could be. I hope to get some advice since I have no idea what changed with my browser or what the QuicAllowed protocol does.

My virus scanner warns me that the location has malware on this url (probably a banner):
