Tinder and Lyft team to simplify transportation to and from dates

Lyft and Tinder have teamed up with a ride-sharing service to offer a new feature for those looking to get back into dating. You can now use Lyft to send a ride credit to a Tinder user who doesn’t have a car to the location where you’ll meet up if you match with someone who doesn’t have one. This eliminates the risk and hassle of meeting a date in person.

The new feature was announced today by Lyft, and it can be found in the Tinder app’s Explore hub, where a card that says “Lyft” is now available. By tapping the Explore hub card, Tinder users can use Lyft credits to send a ride to their dates so they can get to the meet-up location.

Users can set a limit on how much they’ll pay toward the ride fee and whether the credit is for a one-way or roundtrip ride when sending a credit. This feature could be especially useful for users who want to meet up with someone who doesn’t have a car or reliable public transportation.

Lyft claims that its new service is fully integrated with the Tinder app. When users purchase a ride credit, they will be given a shareable link that they can manually send to their date. After that, the match can accept the ride credit, which will be applied to their Lyft account for the duration of their ride.

To use the ride credit, users must have the Lyft app installed. This allows someone to buy a ride for their date without sharing or receiving personal information, such as their home address, making the entire process safer for everyone involved than picking up your date in person.
