The Brave privacy browser now includes an integrated safe cryptocurrency wallet

Brave, a browser noted for its privacy-focused features, has announced the addition of a cryptocurrency wallet, allowing users to store, manage, swap, and transmit digital coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Brave Wallet is the new feature, and unlike some alternatives, it does not require the installation of a browser extension.

More casual cryptocurrency dabblers have the option of using a mobile wallet downloaded as an app, wallet software to run on a computer, or a browser extension that can be added to their existing web browser, in addition to the old school (and particularly secure) cold wallets and encrypted hardware wallets.

Unlike browser addons, Brave Wallet is integrated into the desktop version of the Brave browser. Brave Wallet’s integrated nature makes it a more secure alternative than add-on extensions, and it should also be simpler on the user’s PC. “Almost any crypto asset” is supported by Brave’s wallet, according to the company.

Brave Wallet can connect to most Web3 DApps and other crypto wallets, among other things. The built-in wallet resembles any other crypto wallet in appearance and functionality. Users can see their wallet address, use a drop-down menu to easily move between assets, and choose between “Buy,” “Send,” and “Swap” choices.

Although many crypto fans use cold wallets or dedicated hardware wallets, they are inconvenient compared to a software alternative immediately available on one’s PC. The main advantage is that Brave’s software is a self-custody wallet that can be connected to hardware wallets, such as those from Ledger and Trezor if desired.

Support for multi-chain and NFT assets, direct importation from other self-custody wallets and MetaMask, Wyre support for buying crypto with fiat cash, an integrated swap functionality, and the ability to view market graphs via CoinGecko are just a few of the additional Brave Wallet features.
