Downdetector is an internet tracking service website. Many users started submitting outage repots around 11:30 am.

Facebook representative Andy Stone confirmed the outage on Twitter. There is a problem with Facebook that the company is “working to solve the issues as quick as possible, and apologize for any inconvenience.”

The outage comes a day after a blockbuster interview with Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen. Unfortunately, Facebook has downplayed the significance of the whistleblower’s documents. In recent years, social media is the big impact on society, and Facebook takes place where much of this debate plays out.
