CoD: Warzone, Cold War's Scream & Donnie Darko Skins Are Real

Raven Software confirms that Scream and Donnie Darko skins will be added to Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War for this year’s The Haunting event.

The previously leaked Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Scream and Donnie Darko skins are real and coming to The Haunting this year. Raven Software confirmed the Call of Duty Scream skin shortly after the Ghost Face cosmetic was leaked in October. Raven also confirmed that the in-game scares would kick off on October 19. At the time, rumours circulated that a Donnie Darko skin would be released during The Haunting 2021, but the developer would not confirm this. Since then, there hasn’t been much news about Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War’s Halloween celebrations this year.

The Haunting event introduced new cosmetics and game modes to Call of Duty: Warzone previously. Zombified players were resurrected in Warzone’s Zombie Royale LTM during the battle royale’s first Halloween event. The zombified players gained supernatural abilities, making the tense battle royale even more dangerous. Raven Software also added alternate points of interest to Verdansk and the limited-time mode BR Trick-Or-Trios and horror-inspired cosmetics from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw. Warzone and Black Ops Cold War developers appear to be pulling out all the stops for this year’s event.

Both the Scream and Donnie Darko skins are real, according to Call of Duty, and will be available during The Haunting event in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War from October 19 to November 2. On October 19, the Limited-Time SCREAM Operator Bundle will be released, allowing Warzone and Cold War players to cosplay as Ghostface ahead of the character’s January theatrical return, while the Donnie Darko Limited-Time Bundle will be released on October 24, bringing Frank the Rabbit into the Call of Duty universe. Both bundles come with the designated skin and an additional Finishing Move inspired by the movies and other Epic-Rarity items.

Along with the movie-inspired cosmetics, Raven Software has confirmed that The Haunting event in Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will bring three new Operator skins across three Bundles, including the Necro Queen, Disciple of Mayhem, and Lumens skins, which will be available during Halloween week. The Haunting will also bring a new Call of Duty: Warzone game mode, the likely terrifying Ghosts of Verdansk mode, to the game. Add-ons for Black Ops Cold War include the Nuketown Halloween map and three game modes, including Infected, Scream Deathmatch, and Nuketown Halloween Prop Hunt.

On October 19, 2021’s The Haunting event will transform Call of Duty, with new skins, cosmetics, and features added to both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War throughout the Halloween celebration. The event, however, is only available for a limited time and will end on November 2. Players must log into either game this month to participate in the celebration.

For Warzone’s second Halloween celebration, Raven Software has gone all out. Both the battle royale and its counterpart, Black Ops Cold War, will get major updates that may give unwary players a scare.
