Tesla Cybercab Now Available For Viewing At Petersen Automotive Museum Until January 2

Tesla Cyber Cab Now on Exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum

At the moment the Tesla Cyber Cab is on display at the famous Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. This futuristic, self-driving car can be seen in the museum’s main lobby through January 2, 2025. The Tesla Cyber Cabs is one of the products that Tesla Motors is developing as part of its broader mission to transform the transport sector through the use of self-driving systems, giving people a glimpse of what it means to live in a smart city.

This car is one of the 20 working pre-production robotaxis that was shown during Tesla’s ‘We, Robot’ event in October of 2024. Taking place at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, the event allowed the guests to take actual autonomous rides in these vehicles of the future. The Petersen Museum exhibition of Tesla Cyber Cab is from November 27, 2024, through January 2, 2025, but it is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The Petersen Automotive Museum is located at 6060 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, and is open until 6 p.m. daily, and brings the history of transport right in front of the visitors’ eyes. Adults are charged $21, seniors $19 and children between the ages of 12 and 17 years $13. They include children below the age of four years, members of the active military and personal care attendants.

The Tesla Cybercab is a real ride-hailing car designed to demonstrate Tesla’s vision of the future of self-driving cars. The model, like all the Tesla cars, is fitted with sensors and AI systems, however, it has no pedals and a steering wheel. Rather, the large central screen within the vehicle is used to mediate between passengers and Tesla’s neural-net-based autonomous driving software. This new prototype is Tesla’s idea of robotaxis, where passengers can just relax and let the car do the work.

Although the Tesla Cyber Cab has not been officially launched and is expected to start production only in the third quarter of 2025 the car has already created quite a stir. The first road tests of Tesla Cyber Cabs will occur in Texas and California in 2025, while the production versions of the Cybertruck will be tested on the roads in 2026. Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has mentioned that the base model of the electric pickup truck will cost around $38000, but may vary, like the Cybertruck.

In addition to the Tesla Cyber Cab , one can see and touch historical Tesla models in the museum, including the 2005 Tesla Roadster “Aerodynamic Buck” prototype, and a 2013 Tesla Model S P85 which was awarded a “Car of the Year” title. These exhibits show that Tesla has been keen on innovation and environmental conservation in the automotive sector for a long time.
